The Quartet name is inspired by the four high-performance drivers who work together in perfect harmony to deliver an exceptional listening experience. This unique configuration delivers unparalleled clarity and detail across the entire frequency range, while delivering the powerful, punchy bass that the Quartet is known for.
The Kiwi Ears Quartet was designed around our new dynamic dual driver isobaric subwoofer. The innovative speaker design uses two 10mm titanium membranes, each driven independently by dual magnetic circuits. The pair of speakers have been passively aligned to be synchronized in phase and prevent sound wave cancellation. This new subwoofer design emits extremely well-extended sub-bass kicks that are tighter, faster and deeper than any previous woofer designs.
E: While the Quartet is a bass-centered in-ear earbud, we’ve always sought to provide natural tonal balance. This focus focused on the need to provide textured and powerful bass, but without any muddling or boredom effect in the midrange or treble. Dynamic drivers were crossed using a passive low-pass network at 350 Hz to allow for rich and thick bass, while the 350-1 kHz midrange were tuned to be completely flat. This achieves a precise tone in the midrange like neutral studio monitors.
The Quartet is equipped with a balanced armature driver for medium and high frequencies and a balanced armature driver. These drivers have been modified to accommodate the balance of the new dynamic drivers by an adjusted ventilation system to provide more airflow. In keeping with Kiwi Ears’ tradition, balanced armatures are passively tuned to fit the internal target curvature for midrange and treble. This means that the mids and highs provide crisp, accurate sound to vocals and instruments, without sounding dull or nasal.
The Quartet can be considered a neutral studio monitor, but with an emphasis on bass and sub-bass from 350 Hz. This gives a little more body, texture and richness in the low mids, but neutral mids and high mids. The Quartet is perfect for drummers and bass guitarists who need powerful, punchy bass. Music lovers who want quality bass but a natural tone will also benefit from the balance of the Quartet chord.
Each Quartet unit is handmade using medical grade resin, which is hardened and polished to perfection. The result is a beautiful finish that is both durable and safe for the skin. It also has a removable 2-pin connection system that allows it to be connected to any other 2-pin cable. The Quartet comes standard with a high quality oxygen-free silver plated copper cable, lightweight and allows for noise-free audio transmission.
